Our third week of Theatre Class has whizzed by! We’re having a fabulous time playing and learning together. This week we began reading the play Dulce by Ramón Esquivel. We read an exciting scene from the play in class, acting out all the roles in the scene ourselves. We explored the idea of the climax of a story and drew a picture of the climax of the scene in our journals. We even got the opportunity to write our own scenes! We each came up with our own ideas for what happened next in the story and created a dialogue. We had such a great time presenting our dialogues to the rest of the class.
We love playing charades in class: trying to get our classmates to guess which emotion, job, or action we are portraying with our bodies.
We’re having a great time, and we can’t wait to continue next week!
