We are off to a great start at Echo Mountain! We have begun exploring character, setting, and the parts of a story (beginning, middle, and end) with the help of the book Tuesday. Our class has created frog masks and used them to explore the main characters in the book, the flying frogs. We have also made storyboards: drawing our favorite scenes from the beginning, middle, and end of Tuesday.
Last Wednesday we had a fabulous discussion about what we think, know, and feel about theatre. We can't wait to discover more about our ideas.
We love playing games that help us in our exploration of character and setting. Janitor has proved particularly popular in our class. We were having so much fun playing the game last Wednesday that no one wanted to leave!

- The artSpace initiative is a partnership between the Arizona Department of Education, the Phoenix Office of Arts & Culture, ASU Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts, and the Arizona State Library. The mission of the program is to produce quality learning experiences based on the arts for students and their families.
